Lifestyle Range

Our Lifestyle wines are produced from special pockets around the greater Stellenbosch wine route to express the uniqueness of the region. These wines are distinct and truly reflect the terroir in each variety, and our winemaking approach is minimal as with all of our Salt Rock wines.

SALT ROCK CHENIN BLANC

The first wine in our lifestyle range for everyday enjoyment. Notes of quince, stone fruit and slight oak. On the palate this wine comes to life with vibrant stone fruit and great mid-palate tension. The slight oak gives this wine more weight, resulting in a wine that over-delivers.

Salt Rock Sauvignon Blanc

We decided to try something different two weeks before estimated harvest. One third of the block received a little desiccate or pinch of the bunches, this is to retain some of the natural acidity in the bunches and reduce a bit of water. Wine was left of the lees for 3 months before bottling.

Salt Rock Rose

Cinsault is such a versatile underrated grape has the perfect
composition to create some epic Rose. Thin skinned little colour
extraction and delivers beautiful fruit profile.

Climate Range

Our Climate wines have been crafted to create an awareness of two climate phenomena that the world has been experiencing in the past couple of years: El Nino and La Nina. These wines are serious enough to intrigue the serious wine geek, yet approachable for the first-time wine drinker. The use of two unconventional varieties, Cinsault and Semillon Gri from single vineyards truly reflects the variety in a specific terroir.

El Nino Cinsault

Cinsault, known as the “poor man’s Pino”, truly reflects the versatility of this underrated variety. The wine shows notes of cinnamon spice, cherries, raspberries and brambles. The tannins are soft and velvety with a great acid to give some great mid-pallet tension, ending with a long, juicy finish.

LA NINA SEMILLON GRI

Soon to be a cult wine, this wine truly reflects what skin contact can do to this amazing grape variety. Stone fruit and underlying cinnamon on the nose and a lot of weight on the palate due to the skin contact. The wine has a mineral core from aging in concrete, showing the terroir of the unique site.

Stand Alone Range

Our Standalone wines are all about reflecting the best possible version of what South Africa can give, by selecting single vineyards in some of the most bespoke slopes and regions for each variety, to truly express them in all their glory. They are produced with minimal intervention and aged in a variety of vessels, each adding to the uniqueness of the wine, namely Pinot Noir from the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, Chardonnay from Elgin and Chenin Blanc from Helderberg Stellenbosch.

STAND ALONE PINOT NOIR

The Hemel en Aarde Valley – known for the production of Burgundian varieties in South Africa – is home to this exquisite Pinot Noir. Notes of sour cherries, raspberries and Campari spice are held together by good acidity and earthy notes. A wine with old-world structure and new-world fruit character.

STAND ALONE CHENIN BLANC

South Africa is renowned globally as one of the best areas in the world to produce Chenin Blanc. This wine shows notes of melon, cassis, stone fruit and hints of oak. It’s juicy with a lingering sweetness that gives the wine great tension and a long lasting finish.
